The IT Infrastructure Directorate ensures the provision of IT services to support the activities of the Bank, the ESCB/SSM, affiliated entities and, within the framework of specific agreements, national and international institutions, in accordance with the service and business continuity requirements agreed with users.
It is responsible for the design, development, evolution and operation of data centres, computing infrastructures, storage and network systems. In this connection, it:
- manages the Bank's software assets and is responsible for maintaining IT applications and databases and developing emergency procedures; is in charge of the release to production, maintenance and management of the Bank's computing, network and security infrastructures; provides information and assistance to users; monitors the quality of the services delivered;
- ensures specialized support aimed at preventing and resolving malfunctions.
It is also responsible for the design, development and operation of cloud platforms, ensuring compliance with the service and business continuity levels agreed with users. In this connection, it:
- defines and coordinates initiatives aimed at enhancing the cloud services catalogue;
- designs, develops, operates and evolves cloud services;
- identifies and defines best practices and reference patterns for the use of cloud services, also as regards cost optimization aspects.
It contributes to IT risk analysis activities, in coordination with user Directorates and the relevant specialized functions.
It manages and is responsible for processes within its remit that are classified as critical for the Bank's business continuity, also acting in cooperation with the other Directorates within the Department.
In compliance with the relevant regulations, the Directorate may outsource some of its activities.
