Born in Rome on May 26, 1962, he is married and has two daughters. Since April 3, 2025, he has been Head of the IT Development Directorate.
In 1989, he earned a degree in Electronic Engineering from La Sapienza University of Rome and, in the same year, was hired by IBM, where he worked for four years on the design and development of application systems for Enel (Italian multinational energy company) and Ferrovie dello Stato (the Italian State Railways).
In 1993, he joined Banca d'Italia and was assigned to the Information Processing and Systems Directorate, where he immediately began working on the design and implementation of document management solutions. In this area, he coordinated several projects, including solutions developed for the Human Resources, the Legal Services, the Banking Supervision and the Organization Department.
Over the years, he has acquired strong expertise in digital administration and has led all initiatives that, starting in 2009, guided the Bank towards the complete dematerialization of both internal and external document workflows, as well as the subsequent digitalization of numerous business processes. These efforts also supported the widespread adoption of digital signatures across the Bank.
In 2014, he was appointed Head of the Communication and Document Systems Division within the IT Development Department. In this role, he contributed to launching a variety of initiatives, including: the renewal of internal and external communications with the new intranet and the Bank's new website, systems supporting the Banking and Financial Ombudsman, complaint management, the Online portal for Citizens to submit requests, and the expansion of mobile solutions.
In 2019, he was appointed Deputy Head of the IT Development Department, where, in addition to overseeing major projects, he was responsible for managing expenditure initiatives and information security issues.
