This year the Bank of Italy will award 4 research fellowships in the Directorate General for Economics, Statistics and Research based in Rome.
We seek young economists who have or will soon earn a PhD willing to conduct solid research with strong policy relevance and attracted by the opportunity of actively and directly informing policymaking.
To participate in the selection, you must be a EU citizens; non-EU citizens also qualify provided they hold a long-term EC residence permit or refugee status or subsidiary protection status; family members of citizens of a European Union Member State who do not have citizenship of an EU Member state must have the right of residence or the right of permanent residence.
We offer the opportunity of carrying out your research in a lively, diverse and research-oriented environment heavily engaged in a broad spectrum of economic topics.
The fellowship lasts 12 months, renewable for another 12, and provides a monthly salary of €4,000 before tax, funding for academic activities, and a variety of other research-relevant resources.
Based on your profile, expertise and interests, you will be assigned to a specific hosting Directorate within the Directorate General for Economics, Statistics and Research to carry out your research project and you will interact daily with the Bank's economists and have the opportunity to join ongoing research projects and contribute to the hosting Directorate's policy work and analysis.
At the end of your fellowship, you will be invited to take part in a final assessment leading to a permanent position in the Directorate General. To date, all the fellows invited to take part in this selection have been hired for a permanent position.
