These are monthly statistics on the general government borrowing requirement and gross debt broken down into the sub-sectors central government, local government, and social security agencies.
General government debt is consolidated between and within the sub-sectors (in accordance with the definition adopted for the EU Excessive Deficit Procedure) and is broken down by creditor (holding sector), original maturity, residual maturity and currency of denomination. Statistics on financial support provided to EU countries and general government deposits are also included.
