
Nunzio Ricevuto was born on 3 November 1962 and graduated cum laude with a degree in Law from the 'Sapienza' University of Rome in 1986. He has three children.
He joined Banca d'Italia in 1989 where he was assigned to the human resources area, gradually progressing to managerial positions. For over a decade he dealt with recruitment, job mobility, career planning and development, staff allocation, and innovation of the Bank's management software systems, also contributing to the Bank's integration within the European System of Central Banks.
In 2004, he continued his professional development by joining the Organization Directorate, taking up increasingly senior positions until he was appointed Deputy Head on 1 November 2015. During this time, he promoted and actively participated in the main projects for organizational change, from the reorganization of the Bank's branch network to the adoption of the its new Departmental Model and the reform of the various functions at the Bank's Head Office. He was involved in planning and implementing new initiatives to digitalize work processes, update the strategic planning system, improve the quality of the Bank's institutional services, and promote organizational wellbeing.
He has represented Banca d'Italia in the Central Bank Governance Network of the Bank for International Settlements, which discusses and sets the benchmarks for the central banks as regards governance and organizational change. He has taken part in the studies carried out by the Organisational Development Committee in relation to changes in the Eurosystem and the Single Supervisory Mechanism. He has been a member of numerous committees and inter-functional working groups involved in the planning and implementation of organizational and management reforms. He has also given presentations on business and management for training courses.
On 1 February 2021, he became Head of the Bank's Staff Management Directorate, driving a new configuration of the HR function to bring further innovation in the management and development of human resources.
On 14 April 2025, he was appointed Deputy DG of the Directorate General for Property and Tenders.
