Financial literacy and digitalization of small businesses in Italy
Vai alla versione italiana Site Search
The Bank of Italy carried out a survey on financial literacy and digitalization of Italian microenterprises in 2021, based on a methodology developed by the OECD's International Network for Financial Education (INFE). The survey is part of an initiative promoted by the Italian G20 Presidency for the Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI), aimed at collecting internationally harmonized data on the financial and digital skills of small and medium-sized enterprises. For Italy, the survey involved a sample of about 2,000 companies with up to 9 employees, which is representative of the reference population.
The data are analysed in the paper 'Micro-entrepreneurs' financial and digital competences during the pandemic in Italy' (by A. D'Ignazio, P. Finaldi Russo and M. Stacchini; Bank of Italy, Occasional Papers No. 724, October 2022).
Micro-level data are disseminated anonymously for research purposes. The Bank of Italy is not responsible for the use of these data, for which the author takes full and sole responsibility. The data are available in Stata format.
