Workshop on digital operational resilience and advanced artificial intelligence models

The workshop on 'Digital operational resilience and advanced artificial intelligence models: challenges and perspectives', organized by Banca d'Italia, was held in Rome on 9 October and brought together, for the first time, financial sector associations and ICT service providers.

The event followed up on Banca d'Italia's communication to the market of 17 July 2026 and provided an opportunity for representatives of the financial and technology sectors to discuss the implications of the use of advanced AI models for operational resilience.

The workshop forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the supervisory framework for ICT and third-party risks, in line with the strategic priorities of both the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) and Banca d'Italia.
