Born on 3 November 1962, he graduated cum laude with a degree in Law from the Sapienza University of Rome in 1986. He has three children.

He joined the Bank of Italy in 1989, working in human resource management, first in professional roles and later holding positions of responsibility for recruitment, job mobility, development and distribution of professional skills, and innovation of the Bank’s management systems with the added objective of integrating within the European System of Central Banks.

In 2004, he continued his professional development path in the Organization Directorate, with increasing levels of responsibility until he was appointed Deputy Head of the Directorate on 1 November 2015. In this period, he promoted and actively participated in the main projects for organizational change, from the reorganization of the Bank’s branch network to the adoption of the Departmental Model and the organizational reforms of the various functions at the Bank’s Head Office. He has contributed to planning and implementing new initiatives for the digitalization of work processes, the updating of the strategic planning system, the improvement of the quality of the Bank's institutional services, and the promotion of organizational wellbeing.

He has represented the Bank at the BIS, in the Central Bank Governance Network, which discusses and sets the benchmarks for the central banks as regards governance and organizational change. He has taken part in the studies carried out by the Organisational Development Committee (ODC) in relation to organizational changes in the Eurosystem and the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM). He has been a member of numerous committees and inter-functional working groups involved in the planning and implementation of organizational and management reforms. He has also given presentations on business and management for training courses.

As of 1 February 2021, he is Head of Staff Management.
