On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the introduction of the Consolidated Banking Law, the Bank of Italy's Legal Services Directorate and the Italian Association of Professors of Economic Law (Associazione Italiana dei Docenti di Diritto dell'Economia, ADDE) decided to jointly promote, during the past year, a path of meetings to celebrate this significant anniversary, in a dialogue between the institution and academy.
This path found its final moment in a conference held in December 2023 in Rome, hosted by the Bank of Italy and the University of Roma Tre.
The milestones leading up to the December conference were organized as workshops and were held over the past year at Cà Foscari University in Venice, Palermo and Naples Parthenope. Each meeting was dedicated to the analysis and discussion of macro chapters of the regulation contained in the Consolidated Banking Law. In detail, in the first meeting the attention was focused on the examination of activities, from banking to payment services, with a particular attention to the impacts descending from digitalization; the second meeting investigated the current profiles of the rules of transparency and fairness in customer relations and the related expressive forms of supervisory protection; the third workshop was dedicated to the examination of problematic profiles connected to the relations between supervision and management of banking crises in the framework of the European reforms in the process of being implemented.
This issue of the Quaderni di ricerca giuridica collects the contributions presented in the three workshops, according to the chronological order of the events.
