Workshop on 'Inside Financial Decision-Making: Behavioural Finance and Neurofinance at the Service of Citizens'

On 17 March 2026, Banca d'Italia hosted a workshop at the Carlo Azeglio Ciampi Centre in Rome dedicated to the analysis of the most recent developments in behavioural finance and neurofinance. The event was jointly organized by Banca d'Italia, Tor Vergata University of Rome and Università Politecnica delle Marche.

University students, academics, and representatives of authorities involved in financial customer protection took part in the workshop.

The closing roundtable provided an opportunity to discuss the possible applications of the latest advancements in both disciplines to financial customer protection, taking into account as well the increasing digitalization of financial products and sales channels used by intermediaries.
