The G7 reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the capabilities of the financial sector to respond to large-scale cyber incidents

The G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors have recently approved the publication of the 'G7 Fundamental Elements of Cyber Exercise Programmes', which lays down a set of high-level principles to provide public and private financial entities with a guide on how to develop and execute multi-annual cyber exercise programmes.

The document aims to improve the G7's capacity to carry out joint exercises based on large-scale cyber incident scenarios and to promote the adoption of these clear and effective exercise practices by single entities and other non-G7 jurisdictions, in order to strengthen the international financial system as a whole.
