The Bank of Italy revamps its website

Starting today the Bank of Italy’s website features three new sections and functions, granting users faster access to the information and content they need. The layout and design of the site are by now familiar to our many visitors, while the central panel of the home page has been completely restyled and includes two new sections.

Below ‘News’ and ‘Press Releases’ are direct links to interviews and speeches by the Governor, the Senior Deputy Governor, the Deputy Governors and other leading BoI officials: a ‘fast-track’ to learning about the Bank’s views first-hand.
In a new section to the right of ‘Speeches and Interviews’, a scroll bar lets you browse and share real-time content published on the Bank’s official Twitter accounts @BancadItalia and @UfficioStampaBI.

Below this, in the home page’s central panel, is the ‘In Detail’ section that has been moved from ‘Media’ where it was first featured in 2013. It contains a broad range of documents illustrating and clarifying specific arguments linked to the Bank’s activity. Alongside ‘In Detail’ are two brand new sections: ‘Views and Opinions’, containing statements on the Bank’s position on pressing issues of the day and useful links to documents elsewhere on the site, and ‘Fact Checking’, which provides brief explanations of facts and events of public interest. Each section has its own search engine, yearly archive and tag-based classification system.

Scrolling further down the home page, the ‘Focus’ section now has a permanent link to the Supervision area, which in turn has been completely revised to describe more clearly the Bank’s supervisory role, tasks, and activities. ‘Focus’ includes a constantly up-to-date overview of the main supervisory issues.

Last but not least the site’s search engine has been given advanced new functions that allow users to refine their web searches more accurately than in the past.

With its new look website, the Bank of Italy reaffirms its commitment to communicating in increasingly user-friendly, clear and direct terms to the general public and the media. We welcome your feedback at webmaster@bancaditalia.it.
