The report on the 'Survey on ICT in the Italian banking sector - Financial and organizational profiles, FY 2024' is online on the CIPA (Interbank Convention for Automation) website.
The survey, conducted annually by CIPA and ABI (Italian Banking Association), provides an analysis of the financial, organizational and technological aspects of Information and Communication Technology within the banking industry. It covers the trends, cost and investment distribution and spending purpose in ICT, the sourcing models of banks and banking groups, technological innovation initiatives, and the composition and training of ICT staff. New observations from this edition include insights into the adoption of the public cloud, financial impact forecasts as well as the opportunities created by the introduction of a digital euro and investments in technological innovation.
The survey included 23 banking groups, which together account for 92 per cent of Italian banking groups in terms of total assets, and 32 banks.
