MUDEM in Naples: three events at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples

20 April 2026

From 24 April to 22 June 2026, the National Archaeological Museum of Naples hosts 'The Adventure of Money - The everlasting exchange', a cycle of three events organised in collaboration with MUDEM - the Money Museum of Banca d'Italia.

The first event, 'The Gold of Naples. Devotion, Money and Trust', is scheduled for Friday 24 April at 11.00 am. The event reflects on the value of gold seen in its symbolic dimension, its use in coinage and its role in modern reserves. Fabio Panetta, Governor of Banca d'Italia, will take part in the event.

The second event, 'Playing with Numbers. Statistics as a Sixth Financial Sense' (18 May, 5.00 pm), introduces the public to the tools needed to navigate uncertainty and to make informed financial decisions.

The cycle concludes with 'Trust and Record-Keeping: From the Sulpicii Archive to the Blockchain' (22 June, 5.00 pm). The event explores the role of record-keeping - from antiquity to the digital age - as the foundation of economic systems. Chiara Scotti, Deputy Governor of Banca d'Italia will take part in the event.
