Ignazio Visco Governor of the Bank of Italy
Ignazio Visco today takes up his position as Governor of the Bank of Italy pursuant to the decree issued by the President of the Italian Republic on 24 October.
On the same day the General Council of the Bank of Italy had unanimously expressed a favourable opinion on the proposal of the President of the Council of Ministers indicating Ignazio Visco as the successor to Mario Draghi, as of today President of the European Central Bank.
