I Navigati - The 2025 cybersecurity awareness campaign

3 October 2025

The Navigati family are back to help us recognize and protect ourselves from online threats.
The 2025 information campaign launches on 3 October and aims to raise public awareness of two key issues: preventing online fraud, including scams carried out employing artificial intelligence, and using instant bank transfers responsibly.

This year's campaign revolves around the concept of 'freezing'. In an increasingly fast-paced and interconnected digital world, where fraudsters exploit urgency and panic to trigger impulsive reactions, the Navigati family deliver a clear message: pausing to think is the first line of defence. Taking a moment to reflect before acting, observing with clarity and evaluating thoroughly can make all the difference.

The key message of the campaign - 'Scammers on the prowl? Stop and stay safe' - is an invitation not to be overwhelmed by pressure, but instead to recognize warning signs and think about your response: stop what you are doing, verify the piece of information you were given and protect yourself. The campaign features videos, multimedia content, interviews and expert advice.

Through this new campaign, the Navigati family confirm their role as a trusted source of digital education, offering accessible and engaging content for everyone - from younger users to seasoned internet veterans.

The campaign is available online on the I Navigati website, social media channels and digital TV. It is promoted by the Computer Emergency Response Team for the Italian financial sector (CERTFin) - which is chaired by Banca d'Italia and the Italian Banking Association (ABI) and managed by ABI Lab, - in partnership with Banca d'Italia, ABI, IVASS, the Italian Police, Banca Agricola Popolare di Sicilia, Banca Mediolanum, Banca Popolare di Puglia e Basilicata, Banca Popolare di Sondrio, Banca Sella, Banco BPM, BNL-BNP Paribas, BPER, Credem Banca, Crédit Agricole, Gruppo BCC Iccrea, Gruppo Cassa Centrale, Gruppo Mediobanca, ING, Intesa Sanpaolo, La Cassa di Ravenna, Reale Group and UniCredit.

The initiative is supported by the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) and Italy's Cybersecurity Agency (Agenzia per la Cybersicurezza Nazionale), and involves major international technology firms, reaffirming a shared commitment to a safer and more aware digital culture.

To help customers and provide clear information on instant transfers, ABI has already published a digital guide with practical tips for using this tool safely.
