Banca d'Italia's initiatives at the Salone dei Pagamenti 2025 in Milan

29 October 2025

Banca d'Italia will be at the tenth edition of the Salone dei Pagamenti, held in Milan at the Allianz MiCo venue from 29 to 31 October 2025. The event is organized by the Italian Banking Association (ABI) and this year's edition is devoted to generative talent, providing a forum for experts to exchange views on innovation, payments digitalization, and sustainable development.

On Wednesday 29 October, during the opening plenary session, Andrea Cabrini of Class CNBC will be interviewing Chiara Scotti, Deputy Governor of Banca d'Italia.

Over the three days, experts from Banca d'Italia will take part in several sessions and address some of the key topics of this year's edition. The discussions range from the importance for all public and private stakeholders to act in synergy to ensure payment security and prevent cyber fraud, to updates on the digital euro project, on the Pontes and Appia initiatives for the development of new DLT-based infrastructures, on innovation in instant payments and cross-border transactions, and on the Bank's commitment to digitalization of public administrations. Other sessions will focus on talent development and skills enhancement to promote innovation within organizations.

Banca d'Italia will also have two stalls in the exhibition area, one with a focus on the digital euro, payments and banknotes, and the other, dubbed the 'Talent Terrace', on career opportunities, sought-after professional profiles and skills, and the Bank's training and development activities.
