Symposium on 'Market Power in the AI Value Chain: between Trade and Finance'

On 4 November 2026, Banca d'Italia will host an in-person symposium in Rome on Market Power in the AI Value Chain, organised in partnership with LUISS University. The event will examine the emerging competition issues arising across global AI-related technology supply chains and their potential implications for the financial sector.

The symposium features introductory remarks by Andrea Brandolini (Director General for Economics, Statistics and Research at Banca d'Italia), followed by three scientific sessions. Professor Joshua Gans (University of Toronto) will deliver the keynote lecture, and Stefano Siviero (Director General for Payments and Market Infrastructures at Banca d'Italia) will provide the closing remarks.
