Activity and Sustainability Report

The Activity and Sustainability Report provides an overview of the Bank's role and functions, and an account of the activities carried out and the results achieved during the year, including with regard to environmental, social and governance (ESG) sustainability.

The Report is divided into four sections. The overview summarizes the Bank's main activities in 2025 and its medium-term strategy. The section on the Bank's set-up illustrates its targets and functions. The section on the Bank's results for the year sets out in detail the activities and work carried out during the year. The last section reviews the Bank's commitment to sustainability, including information on ESG issues.

The Report fulfils the legal requirements for disclosure to parliament and the government laid down in Article 19 of Law 262/2005, as amended by Legislative Decree 303/ 2006, and, as far as banking and non-banking supervisory activity is concerned, in Article 4 of the Consolidated Law on Banking (Legislative Decree 385/1993).

The section on sustainability is drawn up taking into account the relevant European standards, and is supplemented by the Annual report on sustainable investments and climate-related risks, published at the same time. Up until 2024, the annual Report on Operations and Activities of Banca d'Italia, Banca d'Italia. Functions and objectives (only in Italian) and the Environment Report were published separately.
