On December 4th the Bank of Italy hosted a seminar on local public finance, with particular reference to subnational tax autonomy, expenditure consolidation and accounting rules, with the aim of stimulating a discussion about the efficiency and equity implications of decentralization, which is gaining new momentum in the public debate.
