New statistics on payment instruments
Starting with this edition, the statistics on the payment system have been reorganized into thematic reports.
The report 'Methods of payment available to customers: national data' provides an overview of the payment system, including data on payment instruments, channels and technologies, cross-border transactions, open banking and access to cash. The report 'Methods of payment available to customers: regional data' presents regional information on ATMs and POS terminals, non-cash transactions and indicators of access to cash. An additional report is dedicated to 'Public payments and collection', featuring data processed by the State Treasury and SIOPE+. The sections on interbank settlement systems and central securities management are incorporated into the report 'Financial market infrastructures'.
