Today, the European Banking Authority (EBA) and the European Central Bank (ECB) have published the results on the data collection exercise on the bond portfolios held by the main European banks at amortized cost or at fair value through other comprehensive income.
The data collection exercise, conducted jointly by the EBA and the ECB, covered the 70 largest EU banking groups (for Italy: Unicredit, Intesa Sanpaolo, Monte dei Paschi di Siena, Banco BPM, Mediobanca, BPER, Iccrea, and Cassa Centrale) and a further 41 banks subject to the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) that are under its direct supervision but are not included in the EBA sample (for Italy: Popolare di Sondrio, Credito Emiliano, Fineco and Mediolanum).
