Mario Ercolani

Born in Rome in 1913. He joined the Bank of Italy in 1938 and was assigned to the Financial Operations Department. He moved to the Research Department and became its head in 1967. In 1970 he was appointed Central Manager for Operations. He was appointed Deputy Director General in 1975 and Director General in 1976. He resigned in 1978 but remained a director of Istituto mobiliare italiano and the alternate of its Chairman. Died in 2008.
