Banca d'Italia staff are recruited through competitive selection procedures based on public competitions open to all citizens of the European Union who meet the eligibility requirements set out in the relevant notice. Career advancement to positions of greater responsibility is based on individual merit, assessed through a comprehensive system that evaluates employees' performance and achievements over time and includes internal competitive selection procedures at various levels.
In the performance of their duties, employees are required to comply with the employment framework set out in the Staff Regulations and with the general principles of the Code of Ethics for Banca d'Italia staff, which reflects the public nature of the Bank and the importance of the interests entrusted to it.
The Staff Regulations and the Code of Ethics, together with information relating to human resources, are published in this section in accordance with the provisions of the Bank's Regulation on disclosure and transparency.
