Staff size and total cost

This section shows the number of the Bank's employees and its total staff costs for the current and the previous year.

The tables are drawn from the Annual Report, which is released each year by the end of May. For correct interpretation of the total staff cost, the data are supplemented by the "Notes to the Accounts" of Banca d'Italia's Annual Accounts.

Additional information and comment on the Bank's staff are given into the "Activity and Sustainability Report", also released each year by the end of May.
