She was born in Naples on 21 May 1967, and she graduated with honours in law from the Università degli Studi di Napoli.

She has been at Banca d'Italia since 1992, and spent a significant part of her career with the Treasury Services Directorate, where she worked on managing the initiatives for modernizing the infrastructure and technology for public payments, liaising with the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and with the sectoral authorities (Corte dei Conti, Agid, Pagopa). She promoted the updating of the regulatory framework for public accounting provisions and monitored the impact of the innovations introduced on the setups of the Bank's branch network. She collaborated with the MEF and the Corte dei Conti on the work to review data flows in order to increase their information value.

She has been in the Operations and Payment Settlement Directorate since 2018. She has worked on consolidating relationships with similar Eurosystem institions and monitored the changes in post-trading activity in central banks by promoting cooperation forums and the exchange of learning experiences with the Bank. She has promoted diversification and the strengthening of relations with the financial industry and with post-trading operators - central securities depositaries, global custodians, securities lending agents - and the operational readiness of the Bank's transactional systems, including by using innovative technologies. She has monitored the growth in the post-trading services provided to qualified domestic and supranational institutional customers.

She became Deputy Head of the Directorate in 2020, and was appointed Head of Directorate in 2023.

She has worked on organizing courses and conferences on the topics covered in Banca d'Italia's official publications and on drafting in-depth analyses.
