When disposing of its properties, the Bank favours solutions that can maximize their value and breathe new life into historic buildings by promoting their use for the cultural and economic growth of the local communities. Following this approach, the Bank has sold a number properties, in the interests of the community, often involving national and local authorities.
The Bank disposes of real estate assets that it no longer uses for institutional purposes, primarily buildings that once housed its branches and that were vacated following the reorganization of the Bank's branch network. For these buildings, which are traditionally located in historic towns centres, the residential and office spaces can be sold separately.
In addition, other units, mainly residential ones, are available for sale in these same towns.
When disposing of a property, the Bank evaluates expressions of interest received directly or in response to notices of sale published in this section.
The Bank selects purchasers in accordance with the standards and appraised values determined in collaboration with independent experts or the Italian Public Land Agency (Agenzia del Demanio). The potential buyer's compliance documentation is also thoroughly checked.
The Bank disposes of its real estate assets mainly by selling them. Less frequently, it also considers expressions of interest for leasing the properties, or in exceptionally cases, for a free loan for use.
The Bank does not engage estate agents in the selling process. However, open listing agreements may be made, exclusively for sales or leases of individual units primarily for residential use.
