The Economy of the Italian Regions analyzes the evolution, in the year 2009 and in the first months of 2010, of economic activity, the labour market, credit aggregates and local public finances in Italy's four macro-regions.
In this number, the boxes focus on the link between corporate restructuring and the effects of the financial crisis, firms' assessment of the demand for and supply of credit, the financial literacy of Italian households, and health expenditure in the regions with structural deficits in this field.
The chapters on special topics include: estimates of unutilized available labour, the results of the Bank of Italy survey on credit demand and supply at regional level, the activity of mutual guarantee institutions during the crisis, and the "Service Objectives" project to improve public services in the southern regions.
