From 20 October 2026, the Statistics series of Banca d'Italia will move to the Statistics Portal. Reports can be found in the Updates section. To ease the transition, until 31 December 2026 new reports will be available both here as PDFs and on the Portal as interactive HTML pages. Previous editions will remain available on this page.
The Banks and Financial Institutions: Credit Conditions and Risk by Sector and Geographical Area report, updated quarterly on the Statistics Portal, contains data on the financial and credit system, in particular on the distribution of loans granted by banks and other financial intermediaries, the characteristics and number of borrowers, bank-borrower relationships, credit quality, and borrowing terms and conditions (lending rates and guarantees).
Time series data are available in the Statistical Database (BDS); information on the methodology is available in Methods and Sources: Methodological Notes and in the publications ' on Bank interest rates and on Credit quality in the section Methods and sources: Special topics.
