This volume illustrates the precious collection of volumes relating to Dante Alighieri kept by the Paolo Baffi Library and the initiatives promoted by Banca d'Italia to mark the 700th anniversary of Dante's death. It opens with two essays on the history of the Dante collection and includes over one hundred titles, with extremely valuable editions of Dante's works, monographs, research papers and articles. The collection is as rich as it is unusual, considering the specialist nature of the library and its focus on economics and finance. At the heart of the volume is the collection catalogue, preceded by consultation notes and accompanied by a set of analytical indexes. The speeches Ignazio Visco and Luigi Federico Signorini gave for the anniversary celebrations are also included in the section on the initiatives concerning Dante. Lastly, there is a review of the anniversary exhibitions and events organized by Banca d'Italia, including a video made available through the Bank's website and three exhibitions (one of which is virtual) showcasing the most significant items from the Library and some of the works of art from the Bank's art collection.
