The tenth Banca d'Italia Workshop on public finances was devoted to the issue of Fiscal Sustainability. It aimed at highlighting recent analytical developments and emerging policy issues.
Session 1 examined the new methodologies for assessing fiscal sustainability, either via long-term projections or summary indicators. Session 2 considered the fiscal policy implications of sustainability assessment. Section 3 examined health care and long-term care. Section 4 dealt with environmental issues and sustainability reporting in the policy debate.
