Equity, diversity and inclusion in central banking: two conferences in Paris

Two conferences on equity, diversity and inclusion were held in Paris on November 17 and 18. The conferences were hosted by Banque de France and jointly organized by Banca d'Italia, Banque de France, Bank of Canada, Bank of England, Banco de España and the European Central Bank.

The conference on November 17 was entitled 'Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Economics, Finance, and Central Banking' and aimed at the academic community. It concluded with a policy panel featuring Chiara Scotti, Deputy Governor of Banca d'Italia. The papers addressed the macroeconomic effects of changing gender roles, access to credit for women-led businesses, the gender gap, and women's participation in the economy.

The HR Conference on November 18, 'Why Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Matters to Central Banks', was aimed at HR professionals from the public and private sectors. The event concluded with a speech by Massimo Doria, Secretary General of Banca d'Italia.
