Communication on restrictive measures

Banca d'Italia has published a Communication on procedures for ensuring compliance with European Union and national restrictive measures.

The document draws supervised intermediaries' attention to the need to ensure the adequacy of the safeguards in place to detect relationships and transactions involving sanctioned persons and entities, focusing on the provisions of EBA Guidelines 2024/15, which govern controls on customers and transfers of funds and crypto-assets and provide guidance on the configuration and calibration of the systems used to perform such controls.
