Banca d'Italia will take part in the 2025 editions of the 'Italian Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles Day' and 'Earth Hour' initiatives.
'Italian Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles Day' aims to promote greater awareness of the environmental impact of the textile production of fast fashion products in this edition. The Bank will take part in this initiative and in the customary 'energy silence' on 16 February, switching off all its external lighting from 6 to 8 pm.
'Earth Hour' 2025 is an international event that begins with the symbolic gesture of switching lights off for one hour to unite people, institutions and firms in a common desire to give the world a more sustainable future and to overcome the challenge of climate change. Banca d'Italia, together with the ECB and many other Eurosystem central banks, will switch off its external lighting from 8:30 to 9:30 pm on 22 March.
