The Bank of Italy is organising the third workshop on "International capital flows and financial policies", in collaboration with the Bank of England, the Banque de France, the IMF and the OECD. The event will take place in Washington DC on 17 October 2022, health conditions and travel restrictions permitting.
The aim of the conference is to foster the debate on the evolution of capital flows in the current context of monetary policy normalization in advanced economies and in view of a more fragmented international financial system. The effectiveness of the policy measures adopted to mitigate the volatility of capital flows and the role of non-bank financial intermediation in the propagation of global shocks will be analysed. In addition, relevant topics, such as the implications of digital currencies and climate change for international capital flows and the link between financial account liberalization and inequality, will be discussed.
Proposals should be submitted by June 30, 2021, according to the Call for papers.
