This section provides background documentation on instant credit transfers, governed by Regulation (EU) 2024/886 of the European Parliament and of the Council. In particular, starting from 9 January 2025, payment service providers (PSPs) offering ordinary credit transfer services will be required to make the service of receiving instant credit transfers available to their customers, in accordance with the Regulation. Starting from 9 October 2025, they will be required to offer the service of sending instant transfers.
