Banca d'Italia has historically operated across the country via its branches, adapting their structure and activities over time.

Operating at local level helps Central Banks to perform better in their institutional objectives, and to be a reference point for citizens, the financial system, and the payment system. This goal remains important even in a time when technological developments and innovation in the financial sector have digitalized many interactions.

This webinar presents the evolution of Banca d'Italia's branch network into its current organizational structure, highlighting the drivers of change, the transformation process, accomplishments and obstacles, and the challenges we are facing along the way. The discussion covers traditional roles carried out in innovative ways and the new services offered by the branch network to the general public and to the financial sector.

Banca d'Italia shares its experience. First-hand accounts from participants are also encouraged.
