Banca d'Italia runs the State Treasury Service. In Italy, the role of Fiscal Agent for the State entails a variety of services that go beyond the core Treasury function: execution of payments and collection of revenues on behalf of the central Government; management of thousands of Treasury accounts on behalf of nearly all general government bodies; provision of extensive reporting to the State Accounting Office, to the Court of Auditors and to all Treasury account holders; analysis of financial flows in order to support the Treasury cash and debt management; daily assessment and forecast of Treasury liquidity; economic analysis of government actions; and management of the SIOPE+ infrastructure. The main goal of this webinar is to share the Italian experience and to elaborate on future developments for the Treasury function and, more in general, for services provided by Central Banks to general Governments.
