The seminar offers an overview of Banca d'Italia's approach to banking crisis management. Starting from first-hand experience - with the presentation of concrete banking crisis cases - the seminar covers the approach on the resolution of Significant and Less Significant Institutions (in line with the Single Resolution Board's guidelines).
Experts from Banca d'Italia will illustrate - also by presenting concrete cases - their experience gained in the management of national insolvency procedures (compulsory administrative liquidations) which, historically, have been employed in Italy with the aim of preserving the continuity of banking activities and the rights of creditors, depositors and customers.
The seminar will also focus on the role of Deposit Guarantee Schemes (DGSs) and on the activity of supervision on DGSs carried out by Banca d'Italia.
