This section provides a list of the auctions conducted by Banca d'Italia for the placement of government securities, together with information on the securities issued, amounts, prices and yields. Further information on non-auction issuances and public debt statistics is available on the website of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Treasury bill (BOT) auctions are conducted using the competitive auction method, under which the securities are allotted to each intermediary at the rate specified in its bid. For this reason, a weighted average allotment yield is published as a summary indicator of the auction result. For the other securities (CCTeu, BTPs and inflation-linked BTPs), the marginal auction method is used, under which the securities are allotted at a uniform price equal to the lowest accepted price.
