The e-learning course 'Knowledge of banknotes' was developed to provide a better understanding of euro banknotes, in line with the ECB's decisions on checks of banknotes to determine their authenticity and fitness for recirculation.
The goal of the course is to supplement professional cash handlers' training, enabling them to study on their own using an online learning platform.
The course covers the following topics: the characteristics of first and second series euro banknotes; checks on banknotes to determine authenticity and fitness for circulation; and damaged banknotes.
It takes about two hours to complete the course when done in one full session.
