International merchandise transport

For the compilation of the balance of payments' item 'International merchandise transport', Banca d'Italia has conducted since 1998 a survey aimed at the estimation of freight costs and carriers' market shares by nationality of residence; the data are also used to correct modal foreign trade and to estimate the activity of Italian ship managers for transport carried out entirely abroad. As of July 2017 new yearly report is available containing the main results of the Survey on International Merchandise Transport.
