I.2 - The Economic Accounts of Italy. An Estimate of the Value Added in 1911edited by Guido M. Rey. Writings of: Giovanni Federico, Stefano Fenoaltea, Mauro Marolla, Massimo Roccas, Ornello Vitali and Vera Zamagni

This second volume of "Statistics" of the Historical series of the Bank of Italy provides a new national accounting framework for 1911 and collects the results of original research that allow to retrace the history of Italy with the help of statistical data. It elaborates an estimate of the value added by sector of activity (agriculture, industry and services) and proposes a new estimate of the demand side, made consistent with the value added through a simplified matrix of sectoral interdependencies. This new elaboration is based on a careful revision of the statistical documentation using the data provided by the 1911 census, and on the use of new methodologies adopted in the estimates of national account.
