The work consists of the collection and classification of the legislative sources concerning the Bank of Italy and the institutions that gave it the birth, first of all the Banca Nazionale nel Regno. The result is a varied and complex picture of the economic history of our Country from the pre-unification era to date, considered from the perspective of the evolution that under the institutional and legal profile has undergone the original commercial entity that ultimately became the public institution "Banca d'Italia".
The work is offered to the attention of scholars in digitalised format, justified by the amount of the regulatory documents collected and the usefulness of being able to recall and consult on video the individual documents in their original form.
The publication is preceded by brief introductions, one for each of the sections in which the collected material is subdivided, which broadly reflect the institutional activities of the Bank of Italy.
