Banca d'Italia (BI) and the European Central Bank (ECB), in collaboration with the Central Bank Business Survey and Liaison Programs Group, hosted the 14th Annual Conference on Business Surveys in Rome on 29-30 October 2024. The conference addressed various topics, including the use of business surveys in monetary and economic policy, and methodological challenges in survey data collection. Representatives from 27 different central banks conducting business surveys took part in the conference. The Deputy Head of the Statistical Analysis Directorate (BI), Alfonso Rosolia, opened the conference. The final remarks were delivered by Caroline Willeke, Deputy Director General of the ECB's Statistics Department, and Silvia Fabiani, Head of the Statistical Analysis Directorate (BI). The Deputy Governor of Banca d'Italia, Chiara Scotti, spoke on the opportunities and challenges presented by technological innovations such as artificial intelligence. The keynote lecture was given by Professor Paul Mizen from King's Business School.
