Banca d'Italia and the Italian Insurance Supervisory Authority (IVASS) organized an international research conference on 'Banking, insurance and financial stability', held in Rome on 6 December 2024. The conference promoted the discussion of new research from academic and other institutions on how evolving business models, increasing interconnections and technological developments in the banking and insurance industries may affect financial stability. The welcome address was held by Luigi Federico Signorini, Senior Deputy Governor of the Bank of Italy and President of the Italian Insurance Supervisory Authority - Ivass). The keynote speech was given by Prof. Andrew Ellul (Kelley School of Business, Indiana University).
The Program committee was composed by Thorsten Beck (European University Institute), Emilia Bonaccorsi di Patti (Banca d'Italia), Marco Cosconati (IVASS), Marco Pagano (University of Naples Federico II), Loriana Pellizzon (University of Venice Ca' Foscari and Goethe University Frankfurt) and Stefano Rossi (Bocconi University). The local organizing committee was composed by Raffaele Gallo (Banca d'Italia), Giovanni Guazzarotti (Banca d'Italia) and Daniela Mariani (IVASS).
