The ECB Governing Council selects the motifs for the new euro banknote series

The ECB Governing Council has selected the motifs for the future euro banknotes, choosing them from the two themes identified during the consultation process.

In 2025, the ECB will set up a design contest, allowing the Governing Council to select the final designs in 2026.
