In 2022, the Bank of Italy is going to join the Steering Committee of the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS), a global network of central banks and supervisory authorities that promotes the sharing of experiences and best practices for managing environmental risks in the financial sector, with a specific focus on climate-related risks. Governor Visco praised this achievement; he emphasized the NGFS' central role in strengthening collective action to improve the resilience of the financial system to environmental risks and made it clear that the Bank of Italy, which has long been an active participant in the network, will further increase its contribution to planning the NGFS' future works.
