Following Daniele Franco's appointment as Minister of Economy and Finance, the Board of Directors of the Bank of Italy, in a special session and acting upon a proposal of the Governor, nominated the Deputy Governor, Luigi Federico Signorini, to be the Senior Deputy Governor.
The nomination, which is made pursuant to Article 18 of the Statute of the Bank of Italy, must be approved by a decree of the President of the Republic, prompted by the President of the Council of Ministers in coordination with the Minister for Economy and Finance after consulting the Council of Ministers.
