Fabio Panetta begins his term as new Governor of the Bank of Italy

Fabio Panetta takes up his position as Governor of the Bank of Italy today, pursuant to the decree issued by the President of the Republic on 10 July 2023.

Governor Panetta previously served as Senior Deputy Governor of the Bank of Italy and as a member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank. He succeeds Ignazio Visco, who completed his second term on 31 October.
